Completion of Buddhist Teacher Training Program

Elana, ( Devika) completed a three year Buddhist teacher training program at the Nairobi Buddhist Temple with her teacher, the head monk of the temple, Venerable Bhante Y. Wimala. 
Elana is the second woman to successfully complete the program at the Nairobi Buddhist Temple. 
During her training, Devika facilitated the weekly Sunday meditation programs at the temple, conducted several one day meditation retreats and gave public Dhamma talks. 
During the same period, she studied several sutras from Buddhist scripture including Sathiptthana sutra and Dhammachakka pavathana sutra. She also acquired in depth knowledge on beginning and expansion of Buddhism, life of the Buddha,  Buddhist culture, history and fundamentals of Buddhism. 
Devika continues to facilitate English language programs and volunteer at the temple, helping as the main program co-ordinator. 
May she succeed in her efforts to spread Dhamma and inspire seekers in Kenya.
