The two children who received the scholarships visited Bhante at the Nairobi Buddhist Temple with their parents and expressed their gratitude for helping them.

As part of our humanitarian efforts in Africa we are doing many small things to help the needy. Recently we were able to help a boy and a girl who were denied admission to school because their parents could not pay the school fees.

After listening to the grievances of their parents, Bhante sent a representative to meet the headmaster of the school. He got the necessary information with verification that children haven’t paid the fees. Within a few days the school fees were paid for one year until the end of 2011. The children are now back in school and we wish them success with their studies. I am thankful to my assistant in Kenya, Mr. Kumara, who walked four kilometers to visit the rural school and pay the fees.
