Bhante Wimala Awarded Peace Ambassador "Samadutha" Award

In recognition of the spiritual teachings and humanitarian projects of Bhante Wimala, the Upcountry Amarapura Supreme Monks Council of Sri Lanka recently awarded him the prestigious “Samadutha” Peace award. At a special monks council meeting, held on the 14th of March in the hill country town of Nuwara Eliya, Bhante received this award in the presence of more than 40 monks.   full story...

Health Services Excellence Award

We are delighted to report that Bhante Wimala has recently been awarded the Health Services Excellence Award from the Ministries of Health and Resettlement of the government of Sri Lanka. Ambassador for Peace Award for Bhante Wimala

The day was 28th of November 2008. It was a peaceful and sunny morning in the capital of Kenya. Ambassador Ram Sharada and Hon. Njeru Kathangu, a former Member of Parliament of Kenya welcome Venerable Bhante Wimala at the St. Johns basilica in the downtown Nairobi. New Resident Monk Vicitta Sara Bhikku Arrives in Kenya
