Stupa Renovation

In March 2012 we started renovation of the Stupa Shrine of the temple. This is the first time major renovation work has been done since the opening of the temple in 1999. We are planning to complete work in time for the Vesak celebration in May of 2012.

Maitreya Project “Heart Shrine Relic Tour” arrived in Nairobi, Kenya on the 6th of July. Graduation Ceremony In Samaj School

Samaj School is a multi-racial, multi-cultural school and is considered one of the best schools in Nairobi, Kenya. On May 21st, 2011, the third graduation ceremony was held at the school with the participation of His Excellency Geoff Tooth, the Australian High Commissioner to Kenya. Bhante Wimala who, was a special guest, participated in the ceremony with Mr. Dawda, the Triple Gem Society East Africa President.

Scholarships For Underprivileged Students

The principle of Loresho Primary School, Mrs. Rose, visited Bhante Wimala with a request for financial assistance for two academically gifted students to enable them to attend high school in 2010. Although the students Elizabeth and Bradley had passed their examinations with distinction they were unable to further their education because their families could not afford the school tuition.   full story...
